RE: Avionics circuit (-12)

Check if wire 216 is grounded. That would tell you if there’s a short to ground somewhere.

…and from Tony Kirk…
Make sure you have the wires connected to the proper terminals on the micro-switch. The stall wire connects to the COM and the ground wire connects to the NO (Normally Open) terminal. Also be sure the switch is adjusted properly and not depressed.
I like to cut the unused terminal (NC in this case) off of these switches during installation to avoid inadvertently connecting to the wrong terminal, particularly someplace like the stall switch where you are almost working blind. The spar pin switches also come to mind for unused terminal removal.

RE: Parking brake valve position sensor
…bruce reply
I had some additional "hat" section of material from the canopy release system and used that to create a place to mount the brake valve. Nutplates on the back of the hat section hold the bolts that go through the brake valve body. A piece of aluminum sheet with a "V" cut out allows the arm to move from open to closed on the brake valve.

RE: RV-8 Access Panel

If you mean for maintenance access, yes. This is mine (also on my flying 8 and very handy.

Update: echozulu Normal CHTs & Ground Ops
Had some time and swung by the hangar. Didn't have my borescope with me so I got some pictures of the baffles with my phone as best as I could through the oil door. Looks like everywhere is nice and tight except the back which has some baffles that are cut too long. I THINK that in flight the pressure will force it up against the cowling but easy enough to trim.
Went through the SDS settings and may have found the smoking gun. From 500 through 1100 the RPM fuel values on both ECUs were set to 113. The printout I have from SDS says these should be 165 all the way to 2500RPM. I also went through and retarded timing from 25 to 23 everywhere except the lower RPMs where I left them per the printout.
Didn't have time to test today but hopefully that is indeed the issue.
