I ended up getting my frame in the ball park then moved on. Eventually you’ll have the canopy on with Clecos and you can see where you’re at. I had thought that the fit was off but when all was cleco’d together it fit quite well.

The tab projects from the wing and moves based on the airflow. It is connected to a switch that opens when the critical angle of attack is approached (it is adjustable). Making it flush to the wing would defeat the function. Photo shows what it looks like with the cover and flag attached. For polished wings it is really hard to see the stainless-steel tab sticking out.

Same current and probably not enough run length difference of the individual leads to matter, most installs. Any guesses why different gage for field current to/from the reg? Something I'm not seeing?

3D File for Stall Vane Cover
In case anyone wants this, I corrected the dimensions for a popular online 3D print file for a stall vane cover. This fits perfectly. Just attach the usual "REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT" tag to the end. I can send you the file - just shoot me a message.
