I welded up braces that attach the cooler to the engine mount. Solid! I decided it was too heavy and too much torque to be hanging on flat aluminum. PS: steel lock nuts have since been placed since these pictures were taken

I only have a small snippet of my interior with me..the primer you see on the inner skin is rolled. We cant spray in the heavy maintenance environment and rolling is the norm, even topcoat.

RE:

I had a blast tube aimed right at the side of my ND and thought I was set up good until I saw Dan’s remarks. Went back to the drawing board and came up with this..
I hope now I’m set, again..

Well, finally here after the holiday weekend.
This is certainly not wired like we discussed
Transpo BLACK is grounded to the case of the alternator
Transpo RED is connected to fused (10a) powers on with master
Transpo YELLOW has a blade conn to ALT (N) terminal
Transpo GREEN goes to a relay (controlled by the alternator rockerswitch) and then goes back to a blade connector that I presume (was) on the ALT (F) terminal
*so green switched to the alternator field by [alt] rocker
[ presume it went to F because the only other blade is ALT (E)… ]
would it have worked like that?

Possible Pushrod Boot Corrosion: Please Inspect
Hello Everyone, A customer recently contacted us to ask if our aileron pushrod boots cause corrosion on the aileron pushrods. He had seen reports from another RV builder that this had happened. He wasn't sure who had supplied the boots in question. We have been selling these boots for around 15...

My Choice Regarding Priming
Despite the risk of reigniting the war, I figured I'd consolidate a few thoughts I've had recently as I'm beginning to (re-)start my RV-14A project. Prior to my laser cut parts replacement (and even after), I spent a TON of time trying to figure out what process to use to prime. I spent so much...

Return fuel line fitting location on the tank
Is #3 a good location for the return fuel line (for an electronic fuel injection system)? I think I saw all three variants (marked #1, #2 and #3) used by different builders, and looking at the plans there doesn't seem to be much difference to me. In terms of plumbing, it will be routed aft to...

How to set up cooling for internally regulated alternator? Anyone have reliability issues due to heat?
Hello, I have an RV6a that’s had a plane powered alternator fail at 600 hours. PP thinks this could be heat related. How do other people have their alternators? 1. My alternator has a ram air pressure tube aimed at the front from the builder. The alternator guide suggests aiming this at the...

Dome nuts instead of nyloc’s for canopy rails
I have seen it done in a -7, but has anyone used dome (acorn) nuts on the inside of the canopy rails, instead of the called out nyloc’s? It would look a lot better in my opinion, but of course they wouldn’t be locknuts (and you can’t use loctite). So maybe a bad idea? Just wondering as I...

So, I am somewhat IMC on this. I believe it is a Nippon Denso (ND) alternator with a ND regulator attached to the back of the alt case. I see an orange wire broken or just cut clean. I see the heavy lug connected to what I presume is direct to charging the (+) battery post Then, the builder used...
