…Sunday morning as I type this before Mass, I’m still enjoying the restorive effect from the .7hr flight yesterday around the local area. Just about all the boxes checked. Calm. Cool. Smooth. Sky so blue and viz so sharp it stuns. A smidge of upsidedownededness. Brochure RV moments…
…The dull ache from lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow) is decreasing. Doing the stretches and working the program. The repetitive nature of thousands of hours at the keyboard, I suspect, or so says the magic rectangle. That and holding the phone too close for a decade (I’ve been ‘gifted’ with eyesight that allows reading about six inches from my face without glasses). Great for the sim reading a checklist off your phone, or laying in bed watching movies off said device, not so great for the elbows. Learn and adapt, and embrace the suck. <g>
…Sunday’s free moments were spent at the keyboard working this up, some exercise, mowing, and a side job evening of shaking in the box on poles in darkness. 80 bucks the hard way, before taxes, and all the ice tea you can drink. ;^)
…Hoping you got to fly or spend time with your RV this weekend, and your week gets off to a nice start.
…v/r,dr (ouch, damn elbows)

Thank you Veterans.

FYI I did have to cut the support piece on the bottom of the engine stand to allow for the 2x4 to rotate. But it works with a lift cart on the back of the fuse and can rotate with two people (one holding the fuse and rotating, the other to raise and lower the hydraulic cart lift).

Elevator aft/up stop adjustment - how much can I grind?
I bought an 8A that I didn't build and it's been a joy to fly. In the course of getting to know the plane better, I've looked at the range of travel of the various control surfaces, which is generally within spec. In doing so, I noticed the up elevator is at the minimum limit and the down...

13 row oil cooler inlet/exit
Since I’m still waiting on my engine parts for my Lycoming IO-360, I decided to upgrade a few things. Going from an 11 row to a 13 row oil cooler seems to be a good idea. The cooler I received from Vans wasn’t what I was expecting when it comes to increasing cooling efficiency. Is it me, or is...

Rivet or Not? What would you do? F-1203G-R
First- time builder needs help with the plans. Attached please see page 23iS/U-05. At the base of F-1203G-R there are 2 rivet holes. The plans call out the 8 rivets above it, but is silent on these 2 holes. Often they call out places to NOT rivet, but not here. Do I rivet these 2 holes? I...

Fuse only on rotisserie?
Has anyone put a QB fuse, or a finished through section 29 fuse on a rotisserie? I'm thinking of doing that to finish out things before the big join, I think it's strong enough, but want to see if anyone else has done this before.

Upper Firewall Weldment Problems. Need Some Ideas. WD-1002R
This is a new to me project and I missed this little tidbit. In the pictures is RV-10 weldment WD-1002R. It is located on the cockpit side, upper right corner and bolts to the engine mount. As you can see, the edge clearance we normally expect, is not there. To make matters more difficult, the...

Engine driven fuel pump inlet fitting torque
This is one of those fittings with straight threads and an O-ring. I ran it snug up against the body of the fuel pump. when the hose is attached it can still rotate a bit so I put a wrench on it when I tightened the hose nut. Is this normal or am I missing something?

Fuselage stiffeners F786B F786C
I’m working on a 7A fuselage. I’m trying to figure out how to trim the F786 stiffeners. The plans show details for how to trim the F786B aft end, however, it doesn’t specify how to trim the aft end of F786C, or the fore end of any of the stiffeners. I’ve looked all over the instructions and...

Get the cap all the cool kids are wearing! I don’t get a penny. It’s around $15. $5 more if you want your N-number on the back (I put 'STAFF' on the back of mine because it makes me laugh. Put STAFF on yours too if it makes you smile). And down the road $10 to the charity of your choice...
