RV-15 Wing Update Going out to Customers
"Dear XXXXXXXXXX:
A lot has happened since you ordered your RV-15 wing kit following our announcement at EAA AirVenture 2025. While you’ve been making plans, dreaming big, and clearing out the workshop, we’ve been busy fabricating, securing and organizing all the parts and components needed for your wing kit.
In short, it’s all coming together. So, what’s next?
For initial RV-15 wing kit deliveries, we plan to reach out to customers 2 to 3 weeks prior to the ship date to confirm your shipping address, calculate applicable taxes, and request final payment. You can expect this process to begin in early December.
As we finalize our production slots, we'll be updating the Kit Status Portal so that a more accurate Target Ship Date will be displayed. You will also receive an email notification of changes within the portal, so keep a lookout!"

Gas run, but still counts.
Cold front a couple of days back pushed all the dust and haze out of the area, so Thursday morning there was not a cloud in pretty much the entire state of Texas. I used the opportunity to fly my RV for the first time in 20 days. Out to Bridgeport to get gas. Fingers stayed well clear of the...

Lesson learned: use wheel chocks when fueling
So I was fueling up on a windy day here at New Kent International Aerodrome (W96) and although I connected the ground wire, I didn't chock the wheels. Which was idiotic of me, in retrospect. A gust caught the plane and tried to swing the whole thing into the fueling station! The wing would have...

That hole is already larger than #19. Should I just size it up to .5" for an SB-500-6 as was done for the left wing?

Careful When Buckling Lap Belt!
During taxi for my second or third flight something felt wrong with the feel of the rudder. As I taxied some more I felt a gentle "tug in the gut" during LH turns and eventually realized that my lap belt was looped around the rudder cable. Something to check - especially with passengers. Jim...

Looking for a replacement strobe switch for my RV7a. It is a Honeywell AML 20 series lighted Rocker Switch. Not sure of the part number but it shows (pictured) with 0215 L173 1amp 28v MAX. I am having difficulty sourcing one. Anyone have one laying around not being used or know where I can...

VAF Charity Cap: Help your charity and promote this site.
Get the cap all the cool kids are wearing! I don’t get a penny. It’s around $15. $5 more if you want your N-number on the back (I put 'STAFF' on the back of mine because it makes me laugh. Put STAFF on yours too if it makes you smile). And down the road $10 to the charity of your choice...
