Sidās Travel Tool Kit
I carry probably too heavy a tool bag (I'll inventory it and report back later). However, my tire kit includes a Card Machine Works' E-Lift as a jacking solution:
I also have two lengths of 2x4 to stack under this jack screw. Don't forget a ratcheting end wrench to turn the jack screw.
I also have the Van's tool axle wrench: https://store.vansaircraft.com/vans-axle-wrench-kit-for-1-1-2-aluminum-nuts-tool-axle-wrench.html
My tire kit has a tubeless tire repair kit (nose tire) and spare tubes (mains), a CO2 bike tire inflation kit with several CO2 cartridges, and a bottle of baby powder.

3D Printed Wheel Chock for my RV
ā¦playing around with some software and knocked this out in about 15 minutes while the wifey was watching Law and Order. Iāll print one, and if it fits under my wheel pants Iāll print the other five. If it looks like dog$&it Iāll change it š Iām finding this a fun way to mod the RV...

Double Flush mid-fuse Rivets
Trying to figure this out. Like many have said, the fuse is exponentially more challenging than the wings or tail. There appears to be five double flush rivets on each side of the aft fuselage. I get the reason why, but not sure how to make it happen. The instruction say the shop head goes...

This is correct. My battery (EarthX) is on the firewall, I have an RV200 composite prop and the grove one piece gear. CG with me, wife, fuel and baggage will be right around 83ā. Sorry all, I had a Homer Simpson moment (Doh!) :D Of course the CG will move rearward with fuel and people...

Anyone care to chime in on whatās in your travel tool kit?
I had one for my -7 but let it go when I sold it. Looking to build another for my -4. Iāve got the basics like screwdrivers, sockets, wrenches, Allen wrenches, tire gauge, pliers, spare spark plug, safety wire, spare inner tube, zip ties, 1 qt of oil. Anything else Iām missing? Thanks! Ricky

Increased Rudder Forces After a Windy Week in the TieDowns
My RV7 is in the tie-downs at KSNA in Southern California. After last week's crazy winds, I'm missing the hangar space I lost over the summer due to construction and insane demand. The aircraft was definitely bouncing around a bit in the wind. There was a clear bend to one of the tie-down "eye"...

Baggage Tie Downs - Afterthought
I completely spaced putting baggage tie downs in place before I riveted the floors down. Is there any reason not to just use the aft bulkhead flange nutplates/screws to hold some D rings, versus pop riveting something down to the floor without having a reinforcement underneath? For the front...

Hone rudder pedal tubes
Iām putting the WD-804-L/R rudder pedals on the outboard ends of the WD-816 rudder slide. There is too much friction. Iām to hone the rudder pedals. What is an efficient way to do that? Iām thinking a few hours with a red pad will be no fun.
