Tank Sealant for Wings 17-04

Page 17-04 Step 6 calls for tank sealant to close a gap in the wing skins. This isn't fuel tank, it's just for water intrusion, I think.

I didn't realize I would need sealant for the wings, so I haven't gotten any yet. Is there something I can substitute that's quickly available (local HW store)? RTV?

Any other gotchas I need to order for while I'm at it? I'm almost done with the right wing. I can't do anything on the left until I get the backordered hardware bag that has the bits to mount the stall warning switch.

I'll be starting the fuselage next month, I have that complete kit already.

You'll run into several places that you'll need to use fuel tank sealant later. I would just mark that section and come back to it when you're mixing some up for other reasons.

I see what you mean - there's nothing really dependent on sealing that now vs later. I'll do that, thanks.

I like 3M's 5200 adhesive sealant instead of any silicone types.
