Tailwheel steering movement

I’m new to this RV6 and noticed a bit of movement (not measured) on the tailwheel steering arm. What amount of “free play” would be acceptable? It’s definitely noticeable on taxi, landing and takeoff roll.
Thanks in advance!

The notch in the arm does wear out after many hours of use - take off the big nut and take a look to see if the arm might need replacement. You should take that off to clean and grease the ry once in awhile anyway.

Thanks for the input, looks like the slot in the control arm is elongated. Hopefully not a back order item at Vans.

Thanks Dave, I’m new to this airframe so I’m not sure what is “stock” and what to source outside of Vans.
