T-405 Bracket Bolt Torque

I looked in chapter 8 but can't find it. Where is the torque of the bolt that goes in the T-405 wing attach bracket discussed? This bolt is in the slot that allows the tanks to pull away from the fuselage when you mistakenly fly between trees that are less than 23' apart.

No torque. There's a note on the plans. It says something like tighten till the washer can be rotated by hand then safety wire.

Looking on the original sheet 46 "Wing/Fuselage Attach" drawing for the 6/6A, there isn't any note on torquing this bolt. Also, couldn't find anything in the build manual.

Expanding on Wirejock's comment above, I do remember tightening the bolt just enough until I could no longer spin the large washer with my fingers. Stop tightening, install safety wire from bolt head to attach bracket, done. Essentially, no (as in zero) bolt torque.

Coincidentally, Scott McD posted about this recently, and here's a thread about this area that mentions RV-6 plans pages.

In my RV-7 plans it's on Drawing 38, "Wing Attach & Control System Detail". The note in the plans says:

Tighten bolt until washer no longer rotates. Do not over tighten; added friction may inhibit the bolt from pulling away from the fuselage.

Thanks! Detail F on Drawing 38 (RV-7) shows the slot in F-796A bracket vice the T-405 bracket. Is that a change?

The RV-6 was done differently than the RV-7 because it was released as a retrofit to be done on airplanes already flying.
Since part of the reason for releasing the RV-7 model was to make it easier to build, it came with a premade bracket with the slot already incorporated. That required moving the slot location to the bracket at the back. The functionality is the same for both styles.

Yep, what Scott said.

Here's how it looks on my 6A. Slot in the tank bracket (not visible.....under the washer) was a retrofit. Platenut on the fuselage side was easier....it could be done off the airplane.
