Superior crankshaft 74967

Can anybody tell me if a crankshaft with 74967 stamped on the prop flange is a superior part, please? It may have come from an XP-IO-360-B1A2 engine.

I think that’s a Lycoming part number. They don’t alswys prefix their part numbers with LW. Superior have the prefix SL. ECI prefix AEL.

That’s what I was thinking - 74966 definitely would match with a Lycoming crankshaft, maybe it was mis-stamped. I will do more digging!

You'll have to dig through the Lycoming parts catalogue. That part number was likely superseded. One way to know is to dig through the notes in the PN column. The other is to call Tech Support.

That appears to be a lightening hole flange crank. Somewhere around 1970 lightening holes were eliminated.
