Looking for an innovative fix to address step wobble. I can rock the step @1/4-3/8” at the step with my hand (I am 200 lbs). I have the TWC plug, which I drilled in place to 1/4” to get the 1/4 hole thru the bottom of the tubes. I replaced AN3 with AN4, after the step started to rock. I think I may have egged the 1/4” hole in the top of the tubes, by drilling the assy in the plane.
I’m thinking of machining a steel ring with a 1/4” wall x 1/2” wide to slip over the fixed white tube with a 5/16 Dia hole on both sides. Take the step and TCW plug out and drill the 5/16” hole separately instead of trying to drill the assy in the plane. Then replace AN4 with a longer AN5.
Thoughts/ideas.
