Starter Solenoid for 912iS?

dbrotto

I'm New Here
I have a 912iS but not in an RV-12. The starter solenoid has failed. It is a White-Rodger 8781-10 and is not in production anymore. I ordered a used one from an aircraft salvage (they seem to be used in Cessnas) but I'd like to put something new in there.

What is Vans using in the RV-12iS?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks Tom. Two days ago BAS had 2 in stock... they have only one now as the other one is in transit to me . It is a used unit. I was looking for a new substitute. After further digging, the installation manual for the 912iS specs 300 A inrush with 75 A continuous. Aircraft Spruce carries a LAMAR STS-A12 which meets the current spec and physically looks like the White Rodgers part; I have one of them in transit too. Other references I came across indicate that the DENSO 182800-1950 is an appropriate contactor. It is easily available and inexpensive, but I want to stick with my existing installation profile. I just wanted to get some insight as to what is used in the RV-12iS. I suspect VANS did it right and uses the DENSO part.

Thanks!
Danny B.
