Stall warning switch

Mine has become flaky, intermittent, or not at all. As I lift the tab I hear a faint click. The two connectors seem tight but I pulled them off and scuffed the blades. Reattached the plugs and it began working but not every time.
Does anyone know if this mechanism has been changed over time? New design? Thanks

Vans support emailed back and said those switched do go out over time and suggested replacement with a link to the store. Going to replace the micro switch and use Allen head screws instead of the original Philips head.
