Gents,
Cracked passenger step so I'm doing both steps in my 9A. A few of the holes are oversized for the Vans supplied MSP 42 pop rivet (shear appears to be 350 psi or more). Initially I thought they were stainless but further investigation is that they are Monel.
A 5/32 stainless rivet would have a shear of 650 psi
In Red Deer I can get Stainless fairly easy. Monel, its back to another on line order and shipping and 10 days or so and another $50 to $80
We do use a lot of SS screws on our AC. Any reason why I wouldn't want to go up one size in a SS rivet for the step? Or just use screws that matter?
Thanks
Tim
