Stacking Lightspeed controllers with standoffs?

Hello!

I'm using dual lightspeed ignition and working on placing the controllers. I didn't have really anywhere else workable other than the forward baggage area on my RV-8.

I would LOVE to be able to stack the controllers to save space, but it seems like that might not be possible? The connections for the output cable get in the way.

Does anyone have clever ideas for working around this? Would I need to make an aluminum bracket instead of standoffs? Any other clever solutions for this?

Ignore the bolts, these are temporary - I'll be using stainless steel bolts through the firewall once I can find a place that actually sells them.

You can see that the standoff would be great.. if not for this connector.

stacked mine, both sitting on some angle on the bulkheads below the glareshield. Round local hardware spacers providing about 12mm (1/2") breathing, or cooling space.

Thank you!

I will pick up some U channel and use that. I already drilled the holes in the firewall, so I need to use the same hole layout as on the lightspeed - mounting them back to back like this is a nice idea though!

I bought a length of https://www.mcmaster.com/1630T29/ to use. I'll post a photo for future readers as well once I'm done mounting them.

Maybe just move the mounting holes inboard or outboard to fit.
