spark plug gap

In the RV-12iS POH, section 8.6, an electrode gap of .8-.9mm/.031-.035 is listed for a NGK DCPR8E plug used on a 912iS. This is incorrect. That gap would only be used for the newer Rotax 297656 spark plug. If using the NGK DCPR8E on the 912iS you would gap to .6-.7mm/.023-.027.

Vans has been notified and confirms that it is an error, but I'm not sure when/if they will make the correction.

I’ve found that the plugs seem to have the correct gap right out of the box. I change out all my plugs every annual. In 10 annuals I have only had to adjust 2 or 3 plugs before installing.

I check mine with a wire gauge. I have always found them to be .027 - .028 out of the box. I always set them to .025 before installing. I run them 100 hours and they are typically .027 - .028 when I remove them. I just this week re-gapped 48 plugs for stock.
