Purchased the Is tank kit and building now. Just realized the SL-00070 strainer inspection port kit was not included. Any reason it wouldn’t have been included? Maybe I missed a memo…….

It’s considered optional. I had to purchase it last year when building my tank, as it wasn’t included in the fuselage kit with the other tank components.

If you're still in the process of building the tank, I'd probably recommend you put in the inspection port. Its not impossible to get an eyeball on the strainer without the port, but it'll turn a 15-20 minute job into a 2 minute one. The only drawback is that now you have this little bump on top of the tank.. if you have the interior kit (the carpet on top of the tank), its not a big deal.. but I can see bags getting snagged by it if you shove them back there.. but I'd still recommend it.. you want your annuals to be as easy as possible.

As Rob says, the plug supplied in the inspection port kit makes a nasty sticky-up right where you reach over the fuel tank. I replaced it with an Allen-head plug.

From Wicks: their A3704-4 (listed as equivalent to AN932-4D), for a 3/8" plug @$3.84 about 15 months ago. The -4 is for blue, -3 for black.
