I fly an F1 with the SD 6 into 1 and the cold air induction. Similar thing to rambo in that the cowling needed bumps where the two pipes are in close proximity (actually touching) and faired those bumps in, not quite as agressively as rambo however and they are still visible as bumps.
Where the original intake tubes where run through the sump, bungs were made up that take SCAT tube and a small inlet was placed on the front cylinder dam just inside the intake. The air enters, goes through the sump and is radiantly warmed then exits via another SCAT tube to an on/off valve on the firewall and onwards into the cockpit.
It doesnt pump out the heat but it works pretty well considering we are only dealing with radiant heat from a fairly low temp source, at high alt when the OAT is very cold it struggles a little but still takes the chill off.
