I forgot all about this thread! Since I've officially joined the nose art club, I suppose I should contribute...

Syracuse 174TFW tail art

I had thought previously I had posted this, but see above earlier this year there was question? I'm non mil just a typical RV6 home builder who wanted a neat stand out plane with some local pride. I built mine with along with "JB" (who was building his RV6, 5 miles away) who was in the 174TFW NYANG, Syracuse. JB helped be with the artwork. I was patriotic well before September 11, 2001 and this tribute to the 174th TFW was complete to their markings, 2 tone grays, Cobra Tail art, MK82s under wings, and was 1st flown Nov 7, 1999, well before 9/11. I sold it - exporting on a sea container in 2010.

Well, I guess I should add my "Van's Airforce" RV-7 to this gallery.

All the credit for this magnificent paint job goes to John Stahr. I told him what I wanted and we worked together in my hangar for 10 days to paint this beautiful bird!

I also built my own instrument panel, seats and interior that I think complements the paint scheme quite nicely.

I brought a Bronze Lindy home from Oshkosh 2022. I'm proud to say it was the first major award ever presented to a Van's employee.

Stick to the plans and get 'er done!

Note, the stick boots are not installed in this photo, but they are now.

This is spectacular. That being said I'm only through inventorying the remaining parts on an RV10 empennage and fuselage and I'm already having nightmares about the part numbers and names. Not sure I could stand seeing them every time I fly it.
