Seat Back Hinge Placement

Louavul

Well Known Member
Fellow Builders: I'm working seat backs and just don't see the light with respect to which end of the seat back mounted hinge piece gets the last segment removed, I/B or O/B?

Also, when attaching the assy to the floor hinge, laterally, is the last hinge segment on the seat back attached hinge I/B or O/B of the last floor mounted hinge segment?

Please see photos.

I believe I'm correct, just need some reassurance before drilling and wasting some hinge stock.

Many Thanks,

It doesn't really matter as long as the seat back and the floor mate up.

I just did this yesterday. Dwg 30 depicts a left seat seat with the outboard link removed. Your first picture is the left seat. The last link on the seatback on the inboard side aligns inboard of the last link on the floor pan hinge link. Your other picture appears to be the right seat sitting on the left (wrong side) side of the fuselage. The Top view on dwg 30 shows the relationship of the two hinge halves. The seatback hinge is depicted cutaway. Hope this helps
