SB00002 kit and SB00043

So my tail kit is old and I need this kit, it’s currently on back order and cost $56.39 for the kit. I can all parts except for two nuts but when I do this it’s triple the cost? What am I missing here? The only thing vans is short per the store is the two MS21042-3 nuts which I can get else where. Thoughts?

Also with the SB-00043, since my elevators are not built yet can i assume I just need to add the sealant during the construction to be compliant? Thanks

Usually when a kit is out of stock it doesn't mean they don't have the parts it is usually they don't have the parts gathered up and in the kit yet. If you call them and tell them they have the individual parts they might get you the kit put together.

VS-01010-1-PC perhaps? It's $78 alone.

As for SB-00043 yeah all you do is add the sealant fillet during construction. AFAIK it's very rare to see an RV10 affected.
That's what I am talking about the bracket by itself is $78 dollars which doesnt include any of the bolts, washers and the stop like the kits does which is $58
Thanks, my tail kit is a 2007 so Im working getting everything updated before continuing, the vert and rudder are done.

Ahh I see what you mean. I thought you added up all the parts of the kit and came up less than the listed price. Sorry about that.

Van's is pretty nice about SB kit pricing. Like Bearman said you can call them and get the b/o kit. Sometimes the web store isn't up to date even though they have the inventory on hand.

When I called they said they had everything and put the kit in my basket. Still showed back ordered so I have no idea but was cheaper than buy solo

Check the updated plans, they trim the counterweights less vs adding counterweight as per the SB.
Okay you mean the elevator weights? I haven't got there yet but that's good to know. I didn't see that in the SB but could have missed it!

I don't know about the 10 plans, but the 14 had an update that incorporated the SB00043. However, they basically added the text of the SB to the plans rather then create a new procedure. I documented an alternative process that has you adding the sealant while riveting the structures. Much easier, and a cleaner finished product, in my opinune. You can check it out here.

Thanks for that, I had already decided to add the sealant during the elevator build. I had assumed the SB was for already built and if you built after you would just add the sealant during like u did.

While I wait on my parts to change out my stop bracket, was wondering if anyone has used this product and why does it bolt on tope vs in the middle like the stock?
Thanks
