I was in Oshkosh this year and met up with some of the guys who have answered my call for info on RV8 strakes . I also acquired a pair from Terry Burch which I have fitted and flew an air test today . I am very happy to report that they have reduced my clean and full flap stall speeds by 3 knots and 2 knots respectively and 3 point landings are a cinch !! Thank you, all who responded to my call … with best regards .. and Happy landings 😀😀😀
 
Did they change the way the plane handles and feels before and after the stall, such as the pre stall buffet?
 
Cruise speeds before the strakes 165k @ 3000 ft at 75pc power ( 24” 2400RPM ) After fitting the strakes … test to be done…. as yesterdays Wx (turbulence) was excessive . Prestall buffet? no change and recovery as before no change. I will report further … cheers 😀
 
How was the installation process? Do they come with a jig? Screws, rivets, adhesives, other?

Hi yes they come with a specific mounting diagram that indicates their alignment ..with reference to the rivet lines for a precise positioning … easy .. pls contact Terry Burch +1(360)7086645… cheers 😀
