Hello VAF family,

looking for some insight on the Fues kit for the RV7.

I'm going to be ordering my Fuse kit at some point this year (unless i find a started project)....... Is the landing gear supplied with the Fuse or is it part of the Finishing kit? With my limited building space I want to be able to move the fuse around as soon as possible on its own 2 wheels while i finish other items before getting the finish kit.

I can’t speak for definite on the -7 but on the -8 the gear legs come with the fuse kit and the wheels, brakes, tyres etc come with the finish kit.

But the lists for your aircraft can be found in the “my aircraft” section of the Vans Store.

Do yourself a favor and build yourself a nice "low to the floor" fuselage dolly on wheels. Easily moved around a small workspace, and low to the ground for doing all the interior work, wiring, and canopy. Your body will thank you. Once you put it on the gear, you will be doing a lot more climbing.

One word.
Rotisserie.
But you did mention mobility.

The fuse isn't all that hard for two guys to haul around and rotate atop horses if you don't want to build a rotisserie.
The first thing built in the fuse kit is the firewall. Having the engine mount on hand means you can precisely position and CLAMP it securely all around the exposed firewall edges - not possible once it's rivet to the skins.

After building six -7s, I wouldn't want to step over and around gear legs and wheels anymore than absolutely necessary.

I’m building a 7A and my main gear legs came in the fuse kit. I got my fuse kit post bankruptcy so don’t know if it’s always been that way. Not sure if the 7 is the same.

Same here. Received my 7A fuse kit in September of last year and got the. Main gear. The nose gear comes with the finishing kit as it is attached to the engine mount.

Thanks for the info guys your the best.

looks like a low to the ground kart is in my future build plans when the fuse kit is ordered.

I built two 2'x4' carts, standing 20 inches from the ground. I could easily move the fuselage assembly inside my small garage. You can decide to build the rotisserie when the fuselage is more completed. Putting the large structure on the EAA build table is hard work.
