RV12ULS High Density Altitude Takeoff

My son and I made a trip from the Pacific NW to Wendover Utah (KENV) earlier this month to visit the air museum- that was a trip well worth taking. We stayed in Jackpot Nevada (06U) as there is a nice hotel/casino literally a 3 minute walk from the ramp and it's only about a 40 minute flight from there to Wendover. The video is our morning departure from Jackpot to Wendover. ROC is normally close to the book values, but throw a bit of turbulence and such into the mix and you can count on less.

This video is not unique if you fly in/around the mountains and higher terrain areas nor were these extreme conditions, but I think it's always nice to see what our little airplanes can do. We are rapidly approaching the time of year when density altitude really starts to raise its head. This departure was about 10am and the OAT was around 70'ish F. The pic shows the ramp at Jackpot with the hotel/casino in the background. Cheers!
