The difficult day has come where I have finally accepted that the RV-8 project will be coming to a close for me…it’s a timeless tale of priorities changing and life getting in the way, and my hope is that the pieces of this project can find a new home with somebody with the time and dedication to get it over the finish line.
This project currently includes the empennage and wing (slow build) sections. The empennage was completed but an unfortunate shop accident led to a dented elevator, but I’ve procured the parts to rebuild this piece. The wings are probably 1/2 done—fuel tanks not yet sealed but the main structure is largely complete (ribs straightened, two-step epoxy painted, outboard leading edge complete).
No laser cut parts in this kit.
Current price at Vans for these two kits is $18,500 + crating and shipping. I’m looking for $3,000 for the empennage and $10,000 for the wings, or $12,000 for both kits. Don’t have means to deliver and can’t imagine how practical shipping would be.

Many tools to be up for sale as well, including pneumatic squeezer, DRDT-2, pneumatic cleco puller, and multiple rivet guns; currently inventorying them but will make a deal as part of the sale if you’re looking for tools as well.
