RV-8 canopy skirt interior finishing

How did you guys finish the interior of your RV-8 skirts? Fabric? Paint? Photos would be greatly appreciated!
 
I painted mine that were bonded with Sikaflex. In reality you don’t see that detail in or out of the plane.

That looks clean Mike, did you run another bead of sika around the inside after paint?

Thanks, yes,I painted the skirt interior before bonding. I masked, Sika primed and tooled the sealant with a popsicle stick. I have noticed that you don’t notice this area on completed RV8’s. The builds that paint and rivet look fine

I realized the inside of the canopy skirt is right next to the pilot and passenger's faces and masking around the powdercoated frame after assembly would be very difficult, so I smoothed the fiberglass, primed and painted the interior side of the canopy skirt with gray gloss paint before riveting it together.

Looks great Pete! I didn't think that far ahead, my skirt is already attached :cautious:
