Sunday 12/31/23 was a nice day around here, at least in some parts. Most of the interior was fogged in all day but, surprisingly, the coast was mostly clear. I took off with no real plan in mind and noticed that there was very little wind. At least up to 6,500' there was little to no wind.
I noticed that the clouds were hanging around the eastern end of the Olympics in interesting formations, so I decided to go check it out. There couldn't be much if any wind or the little wispy clouds wouldn't survive, that and my TAS and GS were almost the same number, so I figured it was safe to go in for a closer look. It turned out to be spectacular. Unfortunately, the video and photos just don't do it justice.
