RV-10 information for CAA/EAA

I'm New Here
Hello

I am planning to start an RV-10 project. Since this is the first time an RV-10 will be built in Norway, the Norwegian counterpart to the FAA requires information about:
- Total acft in operation of model
- Total operational hours of model
- Total number of accidents
- Total number of accidents with fatal outcome

I tried to ask Vans for this information, but no response from them. This is a firm requirement from the Civil Aviation Authority. Does anyone know where I can find such information? I assume this is also required by competent authority in other countries?

There isn't going to be an official source for the data you need. Vans only knows about the flying aircraft if a builder volunteers that info and not all builders do. The US registration database will include aircraft not yet flying.
Nobody knows the total fleet hours, that isn't recorded anywhere.
The NTSB only has data for US accidents, and this can be complicated by not all aircraft being registered as "RV-10".
I wish you the best, hopefully you can come up with a solution that will satisfy your authorities. This data isn't required in the US but you might try contacting builders in other European countries to find out how they navigated the requirements.

There are currently 63 on the Australian register according to one source, and that is probably correct. By averages that would mean 1200 in the USA, so a good estimate would be 1500 worldwide. Vans own records of flying planes is probably 2/3 of actual but nobody really knows. Get a really well instructed AI search of all registers and you might have an idea.

Not to mention all the drug runners down south of the border :-o

In the U.K., based on a quick search of the CAA database, the RV-10 fleet has 6094 hours.

There are 16 flying aircraft (23 registered). No fatal accidents.

The U.K. aircraft homebuilding body, the Light Aircraft Association, subjected the -10 to a thorough approval process that included assessing structural analysis data shared by Van’s.
