Rudder stiffeners RV9

Anyone have a problem installing the stiffeners on the rudder skins? The right skin went fine but the holes in the stiffeners do not line up with the holes in the left skin.
When I checked, it appears that the holes in the stiffeners do not match the holes in the installed stiffeners on the right skin.

I remember having the same issue and it took a lot of head scratching and staring to figure out what was going on. I can’t give you any magic solution, but just know it will work out if you cut the angle according to the marks on them. The one thing I do remember is that you do have to make sure you cut them from the correct side in order to get them to match up. I was sure I had wrong parts or something was screwed up, but nope, it’ll work!

Guess I just need to do a little more head scratching.
Thanks

I hope you removed material from the front end of the stiffener. I messed up just one stiffener and had to order more. I do have some spares if you need some.

if I remember correctly, a left skin & it’s properly matched LEFT stiffners have a very slightly different hole pattern than what is used for the right skin & RIGHT sfiffners. I think they did this so your stiffners had proper orientation.

I had the same issue and it turned out I did not used the correct stiffeners from the blank. When cutting from the blank, make sure to count sequentially and do not use a B to replace an A for example. In my case, I had to buy a new blank, and use the proper stiffener in sequence.

There were many, many times during my build where I was absolutely convinced the drawings were wrong. By the time I finished the airplane, I had only found TWO instances where the drawings were truly factually wrong. Details matter.

Now when I run across something on my -10 that has me scratching my head, my go-to solution is to study the drawings VERY carefully and figure out what I'm missing.

Note for consideration later in the build. When you tackle the wing stiffeners- same deal applies, the holes vary depending on stiffener location, left/right, inner/outer wing location. Applies for RV9, probably same for 14,10,&15.
