This ASB revises and replaces the following Service Bulletins (SB):

• Certified: SB-912 i-016 / SB-915 i-016 / SB-916 i-006
• Non-Certified: SB-912 i-016iS / SB-915 i-016iS / SB-916 i-006iS

The above Service Bulletins were originally dated December 16, 2024. Both the certified SB and non-certified SB are no longer valid. You must NOW refer to the new Alert Service Bulletins (ASB):

• Certified: ASB-912 i-016 R1 / ASB-915 i-016 R1 / ASB-916 i-006 R1
• Non-Certified: ASB-912 i-016iS R1 / ASB-915 i-016iS R1 / ASB-916 i-006iS R1

Which will now most likely lead to a new Vans Safety Directive. The main difference is that the ASB now calls for a Battery Backup Function test before each flight until the ASB is completed.



Not sure how this will work in the 12iS since we don't have a separate start power switch.

Safety Directive published to ensure RV-12iS owners are aware of a ROTAX service bulletin affecting 912iS Sport aircraft engines with specific serial numbers. Refer to the ROTAX document for the list of affected serial numbers and inspection details.
