OK, Guys, I saw something last week about a new service/safety (??) bulletin for the 912 with serial numbers affected-- now I can't find it-- was I dreaming or....

Safety Bulletin

Wayne, I believe you are refering to SB912-058UL regarding the brittle washer that might break. You can get a copy of it by"googling" on "ROTAX SAFETY BULLETIN WASHER" as I recall none of Van's-supplied Rotax engines are involved and they 'took down' that bulletin on their web site.

I believe that none of the affected engines were sold by Van's and thus did not apply to the RV-12. Perhaps that is why the thread disappeared from VansAirforce.

I posted the Rotax bulletin, and also contacted Vans. They then posted it on their website, but took it down shortly after, as none of the engines they have supplied to builders were affected. I then suggested that the VAF moderators should remove the original post, which they did.
