Would it be wise to get on of the longer offset rivet gun attachments for reaching the rivets in the Horizontal build? About to start this and I have one but its only like 6 inches.
Thanks
Thanks
I had this in the RV10 forum because I was asking about that kit specifically, but it was moved. I think because I didn't specify thatNot sure which model RV you're building, but you're likely going to need it somewhere down the line. Straight ones are easier to use, but sometimes you gotta have that offset version. You can never have too many tools...
ThanksYou’ll definitely need a double off set at some point, but the one you have should be fine. They can be challenging to use, like others have said. In my experience, you’ll need to bump up the pressure prob about 10psi and really lock things in before pulling the trigger. Get a variety of straight rivet sets in various lengths too. I also found a single offset rivet set to have a place on rare occasion.
I have that bucking bar, and was considering the 12"Fyi, for the RV-10 fuselage, I bought the "12 inch" backriveting set from Cleaveland and the back riveting chunk of steel. It worked well for the fuse tunnel. Its 12" total length, including the shank that goes into the gun. So not really an actual 12" past the spring. It was helpful tho...
