Riley Spoon, RV-12 builder and member of VAF, based at 8A7 Twin Lakes passed away last week at his home. Riley built his RV-12 and had been flying it frequently for the last few years. A retired Police Officer, he was enjoying his free time and flying often. RIP Riley.

I only met Riley once and was looking forward to meeting up again at random airports for lunch once I finished my -12. Struck me as a very nice gentlemen who really enjoyed flying. RIP and blue skies Riley.

Fixnflyguy,
It is sad when a member of our close knit flying community passes on.
A mentor of mine, Cecil Ray Weissman died last week.
He had the hanger behind mine, and also had a -4 he built.
He was 96, and flew until he was 91.
He had a vast flying career with thousands of hours 30K?
US Coast Guard, United Air Lines, twice world champion aerobatics in a Pitts he built. It was serial #2.
I will miss him.
