I received an email from Vans this morning about some apparent updates to Sec 30 and Sec 33 for the legacy RV-12. After spending some time trying to figure out what the changes are and if they should be important for me to know about (I have the airplane apart right now for annual), I was unable to determine what the changes are. Is this the norm for this part of the documentation? I don't want to miss something important.

Yeah, someone needs to give Van's a master class on change management, document and revision control. The way they currently handle this is pitiful.

As for the changes to Sec 33 (Miscellanea) - best i could tell, it was the addition of anti-chafe tape to the seat backrest support beam.
I had noticed that that would be an area of "metal rubbing" during the build so added some UHMW plastic wear strips.
Haven't deciphered the change to Sec 30 (Wing Attach) yet.

Their Maintenance Manual for the RV-12 is an excellent example of how revisions should be summarized & documented. Unfortunately there is nothing similar for the Kit Assembly Instructions themselves.

Step 4: the minimum wing gap has changed from 3/16" to 5/32".
