Replacing Coolant hoses

The 2 large radiator hoses are one thing, but the big issue is the 8 small cylinder head hoses especially the ones at the bottom of the engine that goes to the aft distribution point on the aft side of the engine.
Also what’s the best tool to use for dealing with the compression clamps that hold the hoses on the fittings?

I just did mine and these tools also helped along with Piper J3 suggested tool. The Tool Aid 19750 hose clamp pliers set.

The 912 ULS in my RV-12 is due for its second 5 year hose/rubber replacement. I have one of the flexible hose clamp pliers and that helps a lot for the job. But any other tools or tips that have come along in the last 5 years would be appreciated. Specifically what parts and where is everyone buying? Last time I bought some of the parts from Van's and some from Lockwood but I don't remember which ones or from where. I will look back at my records but am assuming things may have changed since then. I am interested in the blue silicone hoses that some people use but don't know where to get them. And are they lifetime or 5 year replaced as well? I spent a lot of time researching this before and remember difficulty and confusion. Hopefully this process has become somewhat standardized and will be easier this time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure what’s available for the ULS, but Rotax is now supplying silicone coolant hoses on new 912iS engines, which no longer require the 5 year replacement cycle.

I created this for the benefit of others going down this road. Hope it helps.
