Replace a single fuel pump in field?

In lieu of the new SB concerning fuel pumps, can you change ONE fuel pump in the assembly while in the field?
Can you buy one fuel pump or must you buy an assembly?
My thought is if your on a x-country and find that a pump has failed during preflight you could have a spare and replace it in the field.

I think field replacement would be a challenge. I’d suggest reading Rotax SI-912i-015 and evaluate for yourself. You can probably buy just one pump, but two pumps, along with the service kit with the hoses and clamps, is part number 481377 for $950 at Lockwood. If one failed, I’d be suspicious of the timing on the other going too, so would replace both, but that’s just me.

Wow.... for $1000 I can buy spare Bing 64 carb for my 912ULS. Field install in less than hour with a few tools....

Jim, which carb would you carry as a spare, the 1-3 side or the 2-4 side? They don't interchange.

Well.... maybe buy L & R used / rebuilt for $500 ea. About five years ago, I bought two new carbs for Rotax 914. I paid $400 for both on eBay.... still have them sitting on a shelf.
