Put the fittings in with permatex, very carefully, and am still getting blue stains around it. What's with these things!!

Embarrasemnt to producers!!!
Those red cubes are an embarrassment to the producer of this device.
After dozens of complaints of users of leakage and pinpointing the cause to a thread cut TOO SHORT , nothing has been done about it.
SHAME SHAME on the producers of the red cube to continue to allow such shoddy workmanship to continue on an otherwise fine piece of equipment.
I used Pro Seal to glue the nipples into the cube, no more leaks.

Actually, if you will contact EI they will send you a replacement if your unit is an older model that had the less than adequate thread depth. Free. At least that's my experience. YMMV

I would have hoped they would use straight threads with o'ring seals like the fuel pumps.
