Questions on Change of Address Form 8050-1

I need to submit a Change of Address on FAA Form 8050-1
I have recently moved to North Carolina. I am listed as the first person on the aircraft registration, so I receive any notifications from the FAA.

My son is a co-owner of the aircraft and he lives in Maryland.

1. For this change of address, does my son also need to sign the 8050-1 form that gets submitted?

2. Do I need to submit a $5.00 check along with this change of address?

3. Do I need to fill out anything on the form beyond BLOCK 11 that indicates that this is only a change of address for this aircraft?

Thanks.

sometimes it is easier to just use an aviation title company when it is more complicated to get it right the first time. good luck. :)

There are three ways to do it, one of which is using the Change of Address portion of FAA Form 8050-1 that you mentioned.

Another one is using the form linked below (from this FAA website which lists the three ways: https://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/aircraft_certification/aircraft_registry/change_of_address)

On the form it says:
• Individual: Owner must sign.
• Partnership: A general partner must sign.
• Corporation: A corporate officer or managing official must sign.
Co-owner: Each Co-owner must sign.
• Government: Any authorized person may sign

It appears to be free!
