Protective Tape

What is a good choice for a protective tape for the leading edge of a metal propeller? Browsing the aircraft spruce catalog, the listed tapes are not recommended for props.

McFarlane sells a kit specifically for props - I have had mixed luck with it, but I’d be hesitant to use anything that wasn’t specifically for use on props - there are a lot of forces involved!

ACS sells two different thickness varieties of 3M prop tape. I use it on my Catto, but don't bother on the hartzell Al. It protects well against rain erosion but does come with a 2-3 Knot penalty. Tried to buy it a month ago, but was back ordered. Must have fallen into the same covid sink hole with the Rapco brake pads.

Prop Guard

When I bought my -9A it had Prop Guard installed. I recently repaired the tips using a repair kit from ACS. Overall I've been pretty happy with it.

I am looking at the aircraft spruce catalog. Are you referring to prop guard?
