Prop slinging grease

My new Hartzell prop has been misting grease on the windscreen. I removed the spinner to clean and check the hub to see where it was coming from. Blades were clean and upon closer inspection one of the zerks was the culprit.

Talked with Hartzell and they are sending me new replacements. Turns out they have had some zerks that have done this where the ball did not close.

For those that haven’t read the manual, new props should be greased around 10 hours. This is how I found the bad zerk.IMG_7244.jpegIMG_7245.jpeg

I just changed the zerks and plugs on my BA prop at CI as well for the same issue. All good now!
