Prop Gov control cable

I've seen some examples of prop gov control cables mounted on the topside of the engine instead of from the bottom as called for in the plans. Any advantages or disadvantages to either location?

If you are doing an engine driven A/C compressor you need to go over the top, otherwise I can see no advantage.
