I went with three blades - I’m assuming it’s in one of the two crates (shipment was delivered to the shop where the project is located; I won’t get there until the end of this week).Wow, that was fast. I ordered mine in April 2024 and its status is still crating (since end of December). It’s an international shipping though and I am still busy with the cockpit, so not in an urge.
Was yours with prop and if so, did you choose two or three blades?
Look what showed up today. Rotax SB completed at Van's (by a Rotax factory tech) prior to shipment. Ordered September 2024.
My original crating date was June/July when I placed the order. I called Anne at Van’s in November to ask if there was any way to at least get the fuel pumps - answer was no, but she said they had an engine that would be available in December. According to the shipping invoice, the exhaust and the rubber engine isolators are backordered, so I guess there are still some supply issues.I am glad for you but this really pisses me off! I ordered 6/7/24 ~ 4 months before you and my crating window is showing 5/14/25!
My prop was drop shipped direct from Sensenich.I went with three blades - I’m assuming it’s in one of the two crates (shipment was delivered to the shop where the project is located; I won’t get there until the end of this week).
Is this a typo? Sept 2024 or Sept 2023?Look what showed up today. Rotax SB completed at Van's (by a Rotax factory tech) prior to shipment. Ordered September 2024.
Hey Brian - Josh is a great addition to Van’s. It was he who finally, after over three months of phone calls and emails, was able to get my defective wing spar replaced. He has also helped me with a couple of other more minor issues. I’m glad he was able to give you an explanation for the delays (although that doesn’t make dealing with them any less painful). Good luck with your build; I hope your engine shows up expectedly early, too!Update:
Just had a very productive call with Josh at Vans and it was nice to get to know him and he updated me on what happened here and steps Vans is taking to make sure these kinds of things become a thing of the past. I appreciate his transparency and honesty. Time to focus on the positives and get this build done!
I received my power plant kit three weeks ago with almost the same list of backordered parts. Hopefully, I will be getting a shipment like yours very soon. When I received my powerplant kit last month, there were quite a few backordered parts (two hardware bags, entire exhaust system, coolant pipes, oil cooler bracket, rubber engine isolators, and of course the radiator. Today I received a shipment from Van’s that included everything except the radiator, which is not supposed to be available until May/June. Pretty happy to have all the other parts, as I now can hang the engine and finish up most everything else.
