As I’m fabricating/installing a plenum, I’m learning how much I don’t know about composites. Anyway, even though the static P is inches of water, there’s still a lot of area. Trying not to make the fiberglass part too thick, I added a center support; idea taken from Mooney. In that application, the top of the Mooney aluminum doghouse is attached to the side baffles with #6 sheet metal screws and tinnerman nuts so guessing the center support is pretty essential there.
