Plans Goof Up for Upper Wing Root Fairing?

Page 41-04 says to dimple all the holes in the Upper Wing Root Fairing Part F-14118A-L. But, seven of the nut plates (K1000-08) installed on the inner rib of the wing (Pg 16-03, Fig 2) which would accept these dimpled skins are not countersunk nut plates. Countersinking these at this point in the build would be problematic, at least, so, use exposed head machine screws instead of the more desirable flat heads that are used elsewhere? Any reason for this seeming incongruency, or is it a goof?

If I remember correctly the metal layers on top of the nutplate are thick enough that a dimpled nutplate wouldn't work. It is countersunk to accept the dimpled root fairing. The load is on the rivets not screw hole. I agree that having knife edge countersunk holes isn't ideal.

See page 16-04 step #2. You should be able to do this now. Just make sure the pilot of your countersink will fit snug in the nut plate. A #30 countersink should work but as always, test on scrap.

I missed this instruction because my QB wing instructions did not include it. Cool. I thought I screwed up up!
