I purchased this tool new at airventure this summer and am now starting to build fuel lines. I question the small arm that pivots across the end of the tube to set tube length from the dies.
This length setting arm on my tool is not flat where it registers against the end of the tubing, it actually has a small point of metal that scratches across the face of the tube when swinging the clamp to lock the dies to the tubing.
This could effect the length of tube distance to flare and ultimately the flare itself.

If any builders have access to this style flaring tool, would it be possible for you to inspect your tool and see if this arm is flat all across the area that sets the tube length? I don’t want to disassemble this tool to hone the part flat if it shouldn’t be.

Thanks, Happy building

Yes, that confirms what I thought may be wrong with my new tool. The tip of that stop dips down on mine to a fairly sharp point. I’ll figure out how to disassemble the tool and hone the surface flat as it should be.
Thanks again.
FYI, when I bought mine one of the side plates was bent, I called and it was replaced for free. I did return the old one. I'm pretty sure it was ATS I bought it from, but can't remember, been awhile.

I purchased mine from ATS also. I removed the stop arm and honed it flat. Works as expected now. It was a lot faster than waiting for an exchange.
Building time takes priority!
