Page 20-03 matchdrill bulkhead

I am uncomfortable matchdrilling #30 the thick bulkhead by handdrill. Has anybody just marked the holes and done the drilling on the drill press? I wonder if the alignment is good enough drilling on the marked holes.

Found John Peck's solution: drill a bloc of wood at the drill press and use it as a guide. Faster than taking the whole assy to the drill press and good enough for the accuracy, I think.

Drill Block

A block of wood will work too, but if you want a nice set it's $20 at the yard http://www.yardstore.com/browse.cfm/2,368.html, has a bunch of different sized bushings too. I'm sure you can get a similar or close to from either Brown or Avery too. Or really anywhere you can get aircraft parts.

Hand drilling

I drilled the holes by hand without any problems. I just placed a small set square adjacent to the drill bit to check that I was holding the drill vertical at each hole.
