Oregon Aero Seats

Looking for a PIREP on the Oregon Aero Seats for the Rocket. I'm looking for something that is better on the tailbone and lower back for 2+ hour flights. How was comfort? How was fitment?

I have them in my Rocket along with seat heaters from Flyboy Accessories. I love them they are very comfortable. The only down sides are they are a bit heavy and a bit pricey but they are well worth it and the weight penalty in my opinion. I had a local upholstery shop cover them that saved a few $$$

I flew several airplanes, so I go the "portable" cushions years ago and used them even on the airline. I loved the effect on my back! the lumber support piece could be used separately from the seat portion. I used the lumbar portion in my partachute for the Skybolt. It worked well for back support and would not interfere if I had to use the chute.
As a disclosure, I am responding without looking to see their current product offerings. I still have it, I've used it in my car as well, but in the last few years, I have not had the back issues as before.
Based on my past experience I would not hesitate to recommend it or to buy one again if I needed it.

There is a reason they are the chosen supplier for military aircraft seats. I’ve toured the factory and there is quite a bit of science that goes into their foam layers and layups. I think my seats have nine layers of varying types of foam.
The construction quality is excellent, and very durable. Mine look like new after 20 years and 1000 hours of stepping on the seat to get it.
Your butt will not get tired regardless of how long it’s in the seat.
Downside as mentioned: heavier than most and expensive.
They did my interior also, side panels, carpet, stick boots. All great.

I'm hard to fit and my RV-3B cockpit needs non-standard seats anyway. They worked with me and eventually I told them to make one final little change, cover the cushions and send them to me along with a bill. I'm very satisfied, but I'd hate to figure out how many times the cushions went back and forth between Colorado and Oregon.

Great, the plane has some circa 2005 Cleveland Aircraft and they aren't that comfortable, and likely will spurge on the Oregon Aero. Every time I see them at Oshkosh they seem comfortable for the little time I sit in them at their booth.

I put them in my rocket new in 2012. I have traveled the country with them and wouldn't change a thing. I had a local upholstery guy cover them with leather I had purchased. Great cushions.

I have had mine for almost 18 years and 2000 hrs. It is just beginning to show a little sign of age on the leather. Cushions are still perfect for me.

I'm pretty happy with the Oregon Aero (except for the price, but you get what you pay for). I chose to fly up to Scappoose to size it and glad I did. They brought out the "standard" cushion and we were able to add an inch or two here or there to make it be perfect. I believe they will send you one to try if you want as well, but for me it was a quick 2.5 hour flight.
