Thanks to ALL you Old Farts!!! Your enthusiasm, attendance and camaraderie is the, “secret sauce” that makes Old Farts the really FUN outfit that it has become. Have a great summer, and see you in the fall! Late November will mark my tenth anniversary at the Old Fart helm. We’ve seen the membership list grow out of the 59 names that I inherited from Old Fart Larry Robinson, to 1,369 as of this morning’s post.

KBOW Recap​

Speaking of the school… it is impressive! The CTO Academy is the only one quite like it in the country. The graduates of the one year course are full fledged Air Traffic Controllers… and can command very good salaries all over the country. The school’s chief instructor is Randy Clayton. The school’s panorama of screens show a 360 degree high definition view from cameras atop the control tower. Within the next year, similar cameras will be mounted at Winter Haven KGIF. The Winter Haven Airport will become Class D with a “remote” tower operated from the school at Bartow. Amazing!
 
Next Thursday is Thanksgiving. No Old Farts event. I’m hoping to firm up plans for Immokalee KIMM on the schedule for Thursday, December 4th. I’m still open for December 11. Ideas? December 18 is Avon Park KAVO and the Hotel Jacaranda. The historic hotel will be decorated for Christmas. This should be a special event for us. Mark your calendars.
