Notches in hard steel

How did you all create the notches in the canopy jettison handle and the canopy release links (RV-7A tipup). Hard steel, with 2 notches needing to be 1/16" wide and another 2 1/8" wide; all 7/8" long.

What kind of tool/blade did you use?

I know nothing about that particular RV-7 part, but an abrasive cut-off tool will cut/notch any steel.

Yep - Like Dan said . . .

Cut off wheel. You can put it in a drill, drill press, use a Dremel, or die grinder.
If you have a drill press, it makes the dimensional control easier, but others can be done pretty well too.
