New YIO-540 D4A5 Thunderbolt Engine $97,000

My RV-10 build has been held up. I will not be ready to use my engine in a reasonable time, so I have decided to sell it. I am asking less than the cost to order it from Vans. Currently, the price from Vans is $98,100.

I also have a Hartzell 2-blade prop for this engine. The prop was delivered in 2022. I am asking $10,000 if you want to buy both prop and engine. I will sell the prop separately for $11,500.

Both the engine and prop are for experimental aircraft. Both were ordered from Vans. I received the engine from Lycoming in August 2025. It has been stored in my air-conditioned, humidity-controlled garage. It is still in the shipping container on the pallet.

The engine is a Lycoming YIO-540-D4A5 Thunderbolt.

This includes the Airflow Performance fuel injection system and dual EMags. It does not include the dual-pulley flywheel used for an air conditioner. Optional red paint was selected. No other options are included.

I am located in North Carolina, north of Charlotte. The closest airport is Lincoln County Regional Airport, IPJ.

That is probably true. When/if I am ready for an engine, I will have to source it elsewhere. I just don't want to keep this beautiful engine in storage indefinitely. I am still working on the airplane, but I might decide to sell the kits also.
